I was wondering if this 'vesre' thing is common or not, I mean if you use it everyday or not. Mike

Sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner Mike. Some words are very common and some are not, anymore. For example "rope" for "perro" or "zapi" for "pizza" are absolutely common. But only old people say "gomía" (for "amigo") these days...
I could understand this podcast very well in terms of speech recognition and vocabulary. Actually I got almost all when I listened to it the first time and I could follow through from start to end. Your other podcasts where a little bit more difficult, in particular your guest speakers. I believe you articulate very well, maybe you know out of experience as a teacher how to do it. Other speakers, I tried some web radios, are out of reach for me. I'm studying Spanish as a self learner for about a year now, basically I learned the grammar and vocabulary and did newspaper reading. It works well, however getting to spoken language is still very very difficult... except for you.
Yes, I did learn how to articulate my voice to pronounce words more carefully and make sure my students understand me. It's a step-by-step thing, people first get their ears trained with my accent and then they can try harder ones.
My other guests are just normal people who are not into languages and would not be careful with slang and intonation. Yet I thought it would be good idea to expose students to these accents too.
